Ed King

Ed is the founder of British Hunting Trips and has been hunting in the UK for over 20 years. He is a passionate hunter and conservationist, and is dedicated to providing visitors with an authentic hunting experience.

 

Ed began his career in the Military, serving 12 years in the British Army with the most part as a Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank commander in the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment. Ed’s military career included 5 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan before his vehicle was hit by an IED attack which unfortunately led to life changing injuries and his medical discharge. This has not stopped him from pursuing his passion for hunting and providing the best hunting experiences. Ed shares his passion with his family who are very much part of the BHT Team and look forward to welcoming you.

Our Terms and Conditions

Booking & Payment

To book onto a trip, please contact us by email. A deposit of 50% is payable at the time of booking to secure your place. The balance will be due no less than 60 days before the trip. Payments are to be made by bank transfer.

Cancellations

Once the deposit has been paid, the booking can be cancelled by either party in writing. Should you need to cancel your booking you must notify us in writing, by letter or e-mail immediately. If cancelled within 14 days of booking the deposit will be refunded in full. Cancellation more than 14 days after booking but more than 90 days before the trip will mean the deposit is forfeited and will not be repayable under any circumstances. No further fees shall be due. Cancelling less than 90 days before the trip will mean 100% of the fees are payable immediately (less any fees already paid) and any paid as at the date of cancellation are forfeited and are non-refundable in their entirety. If we are able to re sell your spot then we will make an exception and refund only to the amount that we have been able to re sell.  We will not grant partial refunds for any unused trip arrangements such as voluntarily missed meals, shooting, sightseeing, transport, etc - after the trip has commenced, or any refunds to trip members who do not complete any portion of the itinerary for whatever reason. We may cancel departures if forced to do so by circumstances such as war, pandemic, civil or political unrest or what is commonly referred to as force majeure. In these instances, we will offer to postpone your trip to another departure of the same within 18 months of the original tour start date; or, if circumstances do not permit, an alternative will be offered at that time. We will not be responsible for costs associated with airline change fees, or for any compensation.

Insurances

Upon booking, parties agree to the Host signing them up to BASC Membership by way of entering their personal data into the BASC webpage. BASC if fully regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and is covered by the Financial Services Compensation scheme. "The policies cover recreational activities of wildfowling, rabbit, pigeon, game, deer, vermin and target shooting, air-gunning, conservation, hawking, archery, angling and ferreting. As a BASC member you automatically receive the following insurance package: up to £10 million Public Liability Cover up to £10 million Employer Liability Cover up to £10 million Product Liability cover The policies provide worldwide cover (excluding North America and Canada) with a limitation of 90 days to cover holidays for members residing permanently in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man." We highly recommend securing travel insurance for your trip. Travel insurance is not included in our packages. Trip cancellation and interruption insurance is optional but highly recommended. Travel insurance offers peace of mind and financial protection against unforeseen events that might prevent your travel or completion of your trip.  We require that all shooters and companions be medically insured. You are responsible for making yourself aware of your insurance policy’s coverages and exclusions, including any such exclusions that may apply to specific countries or regions that carry a government advisory. Securing travel insurance with emergency services is best. If you require special assistance or you have a medical condition that may cause you to have some difficulty shooting, walking, or standing, please let us know at the time of booking. If you have any allergies or dietary requirements, please let us know as well. We can go over the level of activity at the shooting estates and speak to suppliers regarding meals.

General Terms

The Host operates a zero-tolerance policy to anti-social or abusive behaviour by the Client or their guests. If the Host, or their team or representatives, are subjected to unacceptable levels of verbal abuse, drunken or lewd behaviour or actual or perceived threats, the Host shall be entitled to immediately withdraw the Services and leave site without penalty or refund to the Client. ​Please remember that the Host is limited by the guidelines of the venues site management and therefore the Client must accept the practical results of their imposition on the Host. The Host is responsible for ensuring that the selected venue locations are agreeable to Shooting taking place. The Client is aware that restrictions imposed by others (Shooting Estates, Restaurants, Hotels, Spas , etc.) and the constraints of the physical environment, safety, weather or other conditions outside the Host's control can affect the quality and extent of the experience and the Host will not be responsible for experiences outside of the ‘inclusion list’ to be included. The Host is responsible for obtaining all permissions and clearances required for the event.
